Who we are

BehindTheCEO is operated by MAVIE.M d.o.o., Ladeti 19, Ičići, Croatia, OIB 01368913025. MAVIE.M d.o.o. is the controller for personal data used to manage our website, enquiries, customer relationships and email subscriptions. Contact: hello@behindtheceo.co. You can also write to our address above.

What we use your information for

Enquiries and support. We use your contact details, message and relevant order information to respond. The legal basis is performance of a contract or steps you request before a purchase, or our legitimate interest in answering other business enquiries and resolving problems.

Orders and downloads. Purchases take place through Payhip. We receive information relevant to your order, such as your email, name or billing information supplied at checkout, purchased product, payment status and transaction reference. We use this to deliver and support your purchase, meet accounting and tax obligations and handle disputes. The bases are contract performance, legal obligations and our legitimate interest in establishing or defending legal claims. Payment details are handled by the payment services identified at checkout. Do not send us card details by email.

Free guides and newsletters. MailerLite processes your email, information you enter, selected signup group and subscription records to deliver the guide or communications you request. Newsletter marketing is based on consent. You can unsubscribe through the link in our emails or contact us. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that was lawful before withdrawal. Please read the wording of the individual signup form to see which emails you are requesting. Delivery, opening and link activity may be recorded by the email service depending on the features used.

Website delivery and security. Our hosting services process technical information such as IP addresses, browser details and request logs to serve pages, investigate errors and protect the website. Our legitimate interest is maintaining a secure and functioning service.

Who receives information

We use Hostinger for hosting, MailerLite for signup forms and email delivery, Payhip for checkout and digital delivery, and our business email provider for correspondence. Payment providers identified at checkout, accounting advisers and authorities may receive relevant information for payment, recordkeeping or legal obligations. Service providers act as processors where they follow our instructions and may be independent controllers for their own payment, security or legal activities.

Read the MailerLite privacy notice, MailerLite data processing terms and Payhip privacy notice for details of their services and international processing. Their service providers may process information outside the European Economic Area. Applicable safeguards can include adequacy decisions and standard contractual clauses; contact us for information about the safeguards relevant to your data and how to obtain a copy.

How long information is kept

Subscription information is used while your subscription remains active. Following an unsubscribe request, limited suppression and consent records may be retained to respect your choice and demonstrate how consent was obtained. Enquiries are retained through resolution and any related complaint or dispute. Order and accounting records are retained for the applicable statutory accounting and tax retention periods; records relevant to legal claims are retained through the applicable limitation period or final resolution of proceedings. Technical records are retained according to their security, fault investigation and backup purposes. You can contact us for the retention period applicable to a particular record or request erasure where no overriding obligation applies.

Cookies and external services

WordPress and service providers use technical storage for functions such as administration, security and form delivery. Pages may load externally hosted images or forms, which disclose technical connection information to their providers. Payhip checkout and MailerLite signup pages have their own privacy and cookie information. Browser settings let you manage stored cookies, although blocking necessary storage may affect functionality. This policy is an information notice, not consent to optional tracking.

Your rights

Depending on the processing, you may request access, correction, erasure, restriction or portability, object to processing based on legitimate interests, and withdraw consent. You can object to direct marketing at any time. Some rights are limited where records must be kept to fulfil legal duties or handle legal claims. Contact us by email or post using the details above; we may need proportionate information to verify your identity.

You may complain to the Croatian Personal Data Protection Agency (AZOP) or the competent supervisory authority where you live or work.

Providing information

Newsletter signup is voluntary. An email address is necessary to receive an emailed guide or newsletter, and the information marked as necessary at checkout is needed to complete and deliver your purchase. We use signup groups and email sequences to deliver requested content; these are not decisions determining your legal rights.

We will update this notice when our processing changes. See Contact & Company Information for our business details.
